Called to Order: Due to low attendance, the meeting was not officially called to order.
• A brief, informal discussion was held regarding the definition of Civil Service, the purpose of the Committee, and the reasons to review the status of Civil Service in the Town.
• J. Adams agreed to assemble an informational packet of material. The packet may include such documents as applicable Town Bylaws, Town Charter, pertinent sections of police contract(s), and a summary of what Civil Service is. Packets will be mailed so that members may review them prior to the next meeting.
• It was decided unanimously to postpone choosing a Chairman and Secretary until the next meeting.
• It was noted that the objective of the Committee is to reach a conclusion by December 30, 2009.
